We will be walking outdoors for 55 minutes in all sorts of weather. It is important to have comfortable walking shoes and to have weather appropriate clothing. A water bottle is also recommended.
Participating in Walk and Talk Counselling involves therapeutic interventions in a public setting. There is the possibility that other people may hear part of the conversation. I will do my best to preserve your confidentiality while in session (for example, pausing to look at a tree to let other walkers go by, walking on less busy paths). Please contact me with any confidentiality concerns that we can work together to find solutions to.
Sure. If your dog stays on a leash, is not aggressive and is not a source of distraction to you in your counseling session, then bring them along! They will also benefit from a moment of exercise in nature.
Sure. This is your counseling session. Young babies sleep most of the time and can also benefit from a nice walk out in nature. We can pause on benches along the way as needed. Please be sure to dress your baby according to weather conditions and to bring everything with you for their well-being.
Walk and talk counseling is for everyone! No matter your fitness level or mobility, we can be outside, moving in nature together. You set the pace of the walk and I will follow your rhythm. I choose parks that have benches for pauses and rests. People with reduced mobility or who use wheelchairs welcome.
Walk and talk counselling can take place in all weather. Our lives, like our counselling sessions, will have moments of rain, sunshine, wind and snow. Come prepared for the weather, surprise yourself. Surpass your limits. An invigorating walk in the wind and rain will also do good.

That said, if the weather report predicts conditions that could put walkers at risk, I will postpone the session at least 24 hours in advance and suggest another time.
We will only walk in parks with accessible bathrooms or port a potties.
Currently, I offer sessions in two parks in Montreal: Angrignon Park and Mount Royal Park.
